Jonathan is my interpretation of the famous and much loved painting by Thomas Gainsborough. He stands 44cm.17in. tall and has a bottom gusset for easing sitting. His hands flex to hold his hat, but the fingers aren't separate. He has bent elbows and his feet have soles and the cutest quilted toes. The head is shaped, includes ears and his appealing face is coloured using only 2 shades of pencil and a little pen except for the iris's, they need 2 colours in pencil and pen. A five step full colour face drawing page is included. The costume consists of a Jacket with split sleeves, breeches and shirt with collar, snap-on cuffs, hat, cape, stockings and felt shoes. I used a piece of hand- dyed blue satin and the irregular shading suited perfectly. Suits a beginner doll maker to an experienced one. The instructions are very detailed to help you along and include a supply list and cutting layouts. A wonderfully rewarding project for a special gift or to grace your art book collection.
