This listing is for a PDF pattern not the finished product.

The Helena Balaclava is a fun project inspired by Queen Elizabeth and the dramatic collars she wore. The structure is created using different needle sizes and shaping techniques. The piece is knit mostly in the round. Some basic crochet is needed to create the trim. Super fun project, sure to challenge and excite you each moment! I recommend this pattern to intermediate and experienced knitters, although I encourage adventurous beginners give this pattern a try if they can receive a bit of guidance from knitter friends or their local yarn shop. You can finish Helena over a weekend, the chunky needle sizes makes this design knit up really quickly! This piece looks great on men as well.

Pattern includes row by row instruction, how to/in-progress photos for special techniques and an abbreviation dictionary. Written using standard knitting terms. This is a digital file you will be able to download after purchase.

FAQs

Let your garment soak in cool water for 5 to 20 minutes. Air on the side of cold. I like hypo-allergenic woolen solvents like Eucalan or Woolite. Rinse under cool water and squeeze out the excess water. Lay flat on a clean surface to dry.
