Written pattern instructions to make your own knit spatterdashes--not the actual garment.
These spats are stylish and convenient for changing temperature conditions. Slip them in your pocket for the evening temperature drop. Unlike legwarmers, the buttons up the side allow them to be taken on or off without the embarrassment of removing your shoes. They knit up quickly for a last minute gift. Stick to your yarn diet by stash-busting a couple of balls of worsted weight yarn left over from a sweater. The contrasting edging can use up that last bit of something or other getting tangled in your stash. Talk yourself out of buying those pricey fall or winter boots by knitting these for your self and wearing them with your ballet flats (then splurge on the Fluevogs anyway because you saved money on yarn)! Traditionalists can add a stirrup by attaching an elastic or knitted band to the bottom.
