Item details

This colorful infinity scarf is made with bulky, self-striping yarn to create an effortless, retro chevron pattern. The stitches used are double crochet, dc2tog (explanation in pattern), and chain. It’s so fun to watch the chevron stripes take shapes as you crochet this quick project! The scarf is worked flat and then the two ends of the scarf are sewn together. Can be made in less than 2 hours and is suitable for beginners with a bit of experience.

The yarn I use for this project is Charisma, by Loops and Threads. It is sold at Michaels craft stores. The yarn is self-striping, so you don't have to change colors to create the chevron stripes.

You will need two skeins of Loops and Threads Charisma yarn, a size P - 11.5mm crochet hook, and a yarn needle for sewing the two ends of the scarf together and weaving in the ends.

The scarf is 30 inches long (60" around) and 7 inches wide. It easily loops twice around your neck.

This listing is for a pattern only. You will not receive a finished scarf.

I love this pattern. There are couples things that this pattern makes very successful: surprisingly simple stitches pattern that makes nice v-shape (Chevron), a right yarn for a color pattern variation with much affordability (2-ball of Charisma self-striping), P-hook makes it super-fast. It took me less than 2 hours to make with less than 2 balls of yarn, and yet, the finished product looks so satisfying. I was skeptic using P-hook for Charisma yarn, but it made a nice softly-bulky scarf with much versatility for wearing. There was a minor error in the pattern, however the seller was quick to clarify my question. Other than that, the pattern was easy to follow. A beginner can do as long as she knows how to crochet a foundation chain, double stitches, putting pieces together, and weaving.

Super easy to follow, and I made 8 Christmas presents already with it. Love this. Oh, I also switched to hdc stitches after a few scarves by accident, but I like how it turned out. A little denser but the charisma yarn is so soft, I preferred it. Thank you!
