A classic, loosely fitted shirtdress pattern by Grainline Studio that is easily customizable into many different variations. This is our new favorite dress pattern. The pattern comes with two options: view A is an A-line, shift dress, while view B features a gathered skirt at the sides and back of the dress.
This kit comes with everything you need to sew a practice muslin, so that you know exactly what the dress will look like and any needed adjustments when you decide to purchase your own fabric. This pattern is perfect for any light to medium weight fabrics, such as silk charmeuse, crepe de chine, cotton shirting, poplin, chambray, sateen, lightweight to midweight denim, linen, linen blends, and flannel. Extra fabric may be needed to match plaids, stripes, or one-way design prints.
Techniques involved in this pattern are: bust darts, bias facing armholes, shirt collars, gathering, and buttons & buttonholes. Grainline Studio offers a sew-along that makes many of these techniques incredibly clear and easy to follow.
Included in this kit:
printed pattern (both view A and view B) 1 1/4 yards of fusible interfacing 3 1/4 yards of pre-shrunk muslin (enough for any size, either view) 9 3/8" buttons
