Item details

These seeds come from a patch of this native plant I have growing on my berm beneath one of my two Doug fir trees. It's been happily allowed to grow there over the last few years and for the most part it has behaved itself. This is a plant that likes to spread and needs some space. It's a bleeding heart wild child. It is also native to the Pacific coast.

Planted in a woodland landscape it is best mixed with other shade plants. That way once they're done blooming and the foliage begins to die back you'll be able to hide it beneath the other plants. (Ferns work well.) It's an herbaceous perennial and the leaves are quite lovely during the spring and into summer before it gets too warm. In cooler spots and closer to streams it will remain longer before going dormant.

Germination instructions are included with your seeds. These fairly easy to germinate. (about 30 seeds)
