For images worthy of more than mass-manufactured frames. Bottle caps cover this sweet stout wood frame. I beat 'em, cut 'em, bend 'em to my will. If one bottle cap will do, I add another. Excess. That's the secret. I tuck mirror bits here and there for surprise sparkle (see photo 2 upper right and photo 3 lower left for examples).
Just the Facts:
Gobs of repurposed upcycled--whatever you call it--bottle caps from actual consumed beverages cover a strong not new wood frame. Glass is held with glazier points. The backboard is not quite wood, not quite paper, hand painted for fun. Caps are painted with acrylic. Cheerful pink, blue and green dominate. A perfect frame for the eco-aware nursery. The frame is about 15" x 13" The image area is 8" x 10." The real maple leaf is for size perspective only. Will hang vertical or horizontal. The frame is signed by maker Jan Meng. There'll never be another one like this.
If this is a gift, let me know and I'll include a hand-painted post-consumer Kraft gift bag with sturdy handles, and some tissue paper. No charge, of course.
Most of the time, shipping in the USA is via USPS. For spoons and such, we use padded envelopes. When an object fits in a USPS flat rate box we usually use that. To reduce mailing costs, larger pieces are customarily shipped parcel post with tracking, and usually delivered in about seven days. Shipping to the rest of universe may require additional charges to be paid by the buyer. I'll get the details, email the buyer and we'll work it out to mutual satisfaction.
My shipping boxes and packing materials are often recycled; crumpled newspapers make up the bulk of my packing materials.
I accept Paypal and the usual credit cards. Any applicable domestic taxes are mine to deal with not the buyer.
Returns & exchanges
I've never had anything come back. I have had one shipping claim. I refunded the buyer's money and I was reimbursed by the shipper. I'm not inclined to take stuff back unless there's a compelling reason. I don't want my work to be where it's not loved. We'd work it out.
I do custom work if I'm given freedom. Micro-managed creation is no fun for either side. Details are important to me and I'll ask all kinds of questions! Then it all goes into my brain, through my hands and comes out fabulous.
If your purchase is a gift, I'm happy as a clam to include at no extra charge, a hand-painted gift bag and post consumer tissue. For gourd items, I'll include a gourd sheet that gives an overview of gourd use around the planet. Convo me and let me know!
