PATTERN ONLY! This listing is NOT for a finished product.

This is an instant digital download of a complete pattern for a mini messenger-style cross-body bag/purse. The 19 pages of pattern pieces, detailed instructions, and full-color photos are printable on standard 8 1/2" x 11" paper.

This pattern is for a small messenger-style purse, featuring an accent flap with magnetic snap closure, cross-body adjustable-tie strap, and full interior lining. The body of your finished project will measure approximately 6 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 2 1/2". To put the size in terms of technology: it's too small for an iPad 4, but perfect to fit a Kindle Fire and still have plenty of room for your wallet and other sundries!

Skill level: Intermediate. Some prior knowledge of sewing is assumed.

Language: English.

This pattern is perfectly adequate to be used on its own, but for more tips on potentially problematic areas, recommendations for materials, and additional (& bigger) full-color photos, please see my online tutorial here: http://raisinglittledragonslayers.blogspot.com/2014/11/geeky-purse-tutorial-make-your-own-mini.html . Online tutorial does not include pattern pieces, which can only be purchased here.

You are free to do as you please with any items made using this pattern, including selling your finished products (though I would appreciate a mention as the pattern creator, so that others can find me! :-) ). However, you do NOT have permission to redistribute in any way (including selling) this pattern, or in any way claim it as your own.

Please note: I do not offer refunds on digital downloads.

Happy crafting! :-)

FAQs

I only list finished products (nothing in my shop is made-to-order), so I can almost always get your item out in the mail on the same or next business day. I ship all items via USPS First Class, which typically takes 2-5 days to arrive. However, USPS will not guarantee delivery dates; therefore, I can't guarantee delivery by a certain date either. If you need your order by a specific date, please contact me first; I'd be happy to check my recent records to see how long packages have been taking to arrive, and I'm always ready to ship on the same or next business day, but, again, I am unable to guarantee delivery dates.

My products are hand-crafted; as such, minor flaws may be present. If, however, I have missed a significant defect, please contact me within 14 days of delivery, and I would be happy to work with you on a replacement or a full/partial refund. If an item is damaged during shipping, please contact me to send me pictures of damage, and I will work with you on a replacement or a full/partial refund. If the USPS loses your item, please let me know, so I can hunt someone down and feed them to dragons. Afterward, I will work with you on a replacement or full refund. If you have simply changed your mind, please contact me within 14 days of delivery to arrange a return. I will refund your purchase price upon return of item in unused condition.

I'll do you one better--if you'd like, I'd be happy to include a personalized note in the package, so the recipient knows who to thank without knowing your transaction details! Just let me know in the "notes to seller" section at checkout that you'd like me to enclose a note, and let me know what you'd like it to say. (In fact, since these are so often sent as gifts, and you have access to your receipt online, I never include receipts in the package unless you request it.)

I can! Let me know where you'd like an order shipped outside the U.S., and I'd be happy to check your country's import laws to make sure my items are allowed to be shipped there, and quote you for USPS First Class international rates plus insurance. Please be aware that you may be required to pay additional taxes/fees/duties on your package before it is delivered, according to your country's laws; these charges are the buyer's responsibility. I am unable to calculate or pay these in advance, and they are NOT included in the price charged for your purchase on Etsy.

Unfortunately, I am not able at this time to alter my current designs, as I have streamlined a process that optimizes the materials I use. I would need to charge at least twice as much for a blanket even slightly larger, as I would be using fabric that would otherwise be used for another blanket; additionally, there is a process of trial and error in perfecting a new design of any kind, and the first one (or several) seldom come out right--at this time it would require an expenditure of both time and materials that I would rather spend elsewhere. However, Etsy is a vast marketplace of skilled artisans and crafters, and I'm happy to share my fabric sources with you if you'd like to approach another seller for your desired project.

Use of licensed fabric is excluded from copyright infringement by first sale doctrine, which protects a copyright holder's sole right to first distribution of licensed material but allows reasonable redistribution (which differs from reproduction) of legally acquired goods of this kind. Further, as there is a reasonable assumption that crafting materials, such as fabric, are sold and purchased with the intent of being altered, sale of products crafted with these legally acquired materials is not restricted by copyright law. Additionally, I do not use fabrics that have any kind of “sold for non-commercial use” or “home use only” usage restrictions on the selvage.

While there are many causes worth supporting, I've already chosen one: $1 of every physical listing sold is donated to a local pregnancy resource center. The issue of abortion is controversial, but many people on both sides genuinely care about the welfare of women & unwanted children, & I think we can agree that no woman should ever have an abortion because she feels she has no other choice. PRCs (aka crisis pregnancy centers/CPCs) provide women with the support & resources to make a choice for life (some of the free services offered by PRCs include pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, STD testing, pre- & post-natal counseling, post-abortion counseling, adoption referrals, parenting classes for mothers & fathers, & material assistance).
