My Dobby socks are inspired by the Harry Potter books. According to the third book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Dobby the house elf gives Harry an odd pair of knitted socks for Christmas - one sock is green with a golden snitch pattern and the other one is red with broomsticks.

Level: Advanced beginner
The pattern is not a difficult pattern but basic stitches are not described. Knitting techniques used are knit one purl, short rows turn, picking up stitches, knit two together and slip one, knit one pass stitch over.
This model of socks is fairly snug-fitting around the foot. The foot is knitted with two strands of yarn, the result is a thick, warm and cozy pair of socks. The socks can be made in sizes 35-43 (European), women's 5-10½ (US), men's 3½-9 (US), women's 2,5-8 (UK), women's 3½-9 (Austrailia) or men's 3-8½ (UK and Australia).
