Pincushion in a vintage, hand painted tan wooden egg cup with white flower design. Vintage fabric used in pincushion. Yellow pins included
When I was a little girl and saw an egg cup for the first time, I thought it was a beautiful goblet for a doll. My mother told me what it was used for, and I was was very confused since in my book, eggs were spooned onto a plate. When I saw this egg cup, I didn't see eggs or doll goblets. I saw a potential for a petite pincushion. I used some vintage fabric a quilter had given me and had fun creating this little delight. This wooden, vintage egg cup is hand painted. Before it's pincushion hat, it measures approximately 2 1/2" in height and has a 5 1/2" in circumference. As you can tell from the above photo, there is a blemish in the paint near the bottom of the cup.
Please notice in the last picture that the egg cup has a name written on the bottom. 3 butterfly pins included.
