I made these beads by first starting with rolling small balls of clay. I then textured each clay ball all around and pierced and stretched a top to bottom hole. After drying and bisque firing I applied a wash of brown glaze. Applying the thin wash has made the beads a mixture of glazed and lightly colored clay. Because of this the beads are a little rough but there are no sharp edges.
All of my ceramics are crafted from Low-Fire White Earthenware Clay. I create my ceramics with various steps and with standard and unique tools. I bisque fire to Cone 8 then glaze fire to Cone 6. The glazes I use are non-toxic glazes from Triarco, Spectrum, Mayco and Speedball.
