Item details

This is an image designed from the original patent filed by William S. Harley, which was the beginning of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles.

We rescue old dictionaries and give them new life as art prints. We take the wisdom and humor of writers, poets, and artists and thoughtfully craft their words into a design that we print over the warm, yellowed pages.

Suitable for framing, our prints are a cozy addition to your favorite reading nook or make a fun, thoughtful gift for the book lover in your life.

Makes an ideal birthday or graduation present for writers, librarians, lawyers, teachers, students or anyone with a love of words. Spruce up your office cubicle, or pick the perfect secret santa Christmas gift for a coworker! Compose a heartfelt sentiment for the bride, groom or wedding party, or create custom prints for charities, fundraisers, corporate events or campus bookstores.

Our environmentally responsible, upcycled book prints are created from almost 100-year-old dictionaries and the pages often include small illustrations. They may have nicked edges, creased corners, browning, spotting and other small imperfections, but we feel this adds warmth, character, and personality to every piece.

Each recycled vintage book art print is about 8” x 10.5”. They fit well in a standard 8”x10” frame but they really look best in an 11”x14” frame with an 8”x10” mat opening. Creatively designed and carefully printed in our studio, we ensure safe shipping of each print with plastic sleeves tucked inside stay-flat cardboard mailers.

The picture frame shown is not included – you will receive the print only.

If you have a particular quote in mind that you don’t see in our inventory, don’t hesitate to ask! For an extra design fee, we can create a custom print that’s just right for you, or we can change the color of an existing print to better fit the decor of your home. Please let us know if you’d like us to make something for a special event; your satisfaction is our goal.

We pride ourselves on getting orders out as soon as possible, so once the notification of shipping is sent, that means it's packaged up and in the mail. Occasionally folks forget to send us a convo or note as instructed for the free print and we used to convo them and wait for a response while we placed their partial order in an area in our studio set aside for just such orphans. However, if they sat there too long before going out they sometimes got lost in the shuffle and then customers wouldn't get the ones they ordered in time for gift dates, etc., and that's no fun. :(

Of course, if you still want your free one contact us within five business days and we'll send it to you for an additional shipping charge:

We would like to amend our shipping policies. Due to an on-going reported issue from customers telling us of lost or undelivered packages sent via USPS First Class Mail and USPS First Class International Mail, we can no longer replace lost packages sent this way. Once we send your package out via USPS First Class Mail or USPS First Class International Mail we will send you a tracking number to see approximately what sort facility your package is at, however this is not insured or traceable and although the majority of packages DO make it to their destination, some unfortunately do not.

If you'd like us to send your order via fully insured and tracked USPS Priority Mail or USPS International Priority Mail please add one of these listings to your order (these upgrades are in addition to the regular shipping rates):

Domestic Orders: https://www.etsy.com/listing/162266268/express-delivery-usps-priority-mail

International Orders: https://www.etsy.com/listing/177819308/usps-international-priority-mail-upgrade

International buyers are responsible for any duties or customs fees that may be incurred by their destination country. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding our shipping policies.

Direct Checkout (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) and Paypal are the only methods accepted and due at time of purchase. Paypal eChecks must clear first before sending your order. When we receive payment we'll send your order out within two business days.

Note that sometimes when you create a PayPal account for the first time, the payment may be delayed for a few days while PayPal verifies your information.

If payment is not received within five days, your order may be cancelled. Please contact us if you have any concerns.

Returns & exchanges

If we've made a mistake on your order, our prints are 100% returnable for the full purchase price, your satisfaction is our goal. If you are unhappy with your purchase we'll be happy to help resolve the issue.

However, due to recent issues with the US Postal Service regarding occasional mishandling and loss, if you did NOT purchase insurance and traceability in the form of our USPS Priority Mail upgrades (as outlined in our policies), then we can't replace items that arrived damaged in shipping, or if your package was accepted by the post office (as shown in USPS tracking) but was lost in transit.
