This is a listing for an ebook, Biaz Blitz Knitz with four patterns, Swooper, Sailer and Ticker and Checker.
Swooper is knit mostly in garter stitch which is a favorite from beginner to advanced knitters. Rows of elongated knit stitches separate the garter bands worked on the bias to make it visually interesting. I used just one skein of Zen Garden serenity 3 ply yarn which gives a wingspan of 57” - 145 cms and height of 12.5” - 31.75 cms. The pattern is quick and easy and the repeats can be worked to give a scarf of a comfortable size. It is reversible also! Zen Yarn Garden Serenity 20 Yarn weight:Light Fingering / 3 ply ? Gauge:7 stitches and 7 rows = 1 inch in Garter stitch Needle size:US 4 - 3.5 mm Yardage:398 - 400 yards (364 - 366 m) Sizes available: Wingspan of 57”[145cms]; Height of 12.5”[31.75cms]
Two-band repeats make up the Sailer scarf. The 1 st half of the scarf is worked as bands of garter stitches knit on the bias alternating with bands of knit stitch variations also knit on the bias to shape the scarf. The 2nd half of scarf is worked only in garter to desired length and width. I have used 2 skeins of The Woolen Rabbit's Mara and knit each half with one skein. The Woolen Rabbit Mara Yarn weight: Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi) ? Gauge:5 stitches and 5 rows = 1 inch in Garter stitch Needle size:US 7 - 4.5 mm Yardage:495 - 500 yards (453 - 457 m) Sizes available: 60” (152cms) x 20” (51cms) before blocking.
Ticker is a skinny scarf worked as two halves in one piece using only knit sts. The 1st is worked as garter stitch bands alternating with mesh bands to give the scarf an hourglass shape. The 2nd half of scarf is worked only as garter sts, knit on the bias. I have used Schoppel Reggae Ombre 100% virgin merino yarn Yarn weight: Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi) ? Needle size: US 8 - 5.0 mm Yardage: 108 - 109 yards (99 - 100 m) Sizes available: 68” [172.5cms] x 5.5” [14cms]
Checker Checker is a 4-row pattern scarf worked only in garter on the bias. No short rows, no purling. It is worked in one piece with increases and decreases strategically placed to shape the scarf. Using two contrasting colors, the scarf is knit using the Intarsia method. I used a full skein of the fingering weight MC yarn to complete the scarf. I held two strands of the lace CC variegated yarn while knitting to get the same wraps per inch as the fingering weight MC yarn. The wraps per inch of the MC yarn is 17 wraps per inch. Nice for Christmas if worked with a luxurious yarn like silk. Fingering weight yarn would be ideal for this project. Sizes available: 39” [99cms] x 8” [20 cms]
