This set of five shank-back buttons was wood-fired in a kiln in North Carolina. I named them after the Breton hat, which they resemble. The kiln atmosphere creates the finish, so each button is a little different. Very sturdy, requiring no special care: just machine wash and dry with the garment inside out.

Returns & exchanges
All ceramic items are fragile to some degree. I specialize in high-fire ware, which is the most resilient. However, a good drop down a flight of stairs will do any ceramic object in. Due to the nature of ceramic objects, I can only be responsible for the item until it goes into the hands of the postal service. I have been packing ceramic items for many years and am willing to guarantee that items will not break in transit due to my packing. If you are concerned about the postal service's handling, please contact me about insuring your shipment. Because each item is hand made and fired in an atmospheric kiln, it is unique. I will not be able to replace an item with an exact replica. If you feel an item has broken due to my negligence, please send photos and we will resolve the issue either by refund or exchanging for a different item of the same style/value. I stand behind my craftsmanship: items that are reasonably cared for will last many, many years.
