This is a 40/60 German Angora/Acrylic sock knitting yarn in a professionally dyed Dark Teal. Each 100-gram ball has 462 yards (422 meters) of two-ply knitting yarn, weighing in at 2,100 yards per pound.
After many requests for high-quality sock yarns that do not have wool in them, I finally found this beautiful yarn spun in a small mill that specializes in high-end yarns from fine fibers. Angora is many times warmer than wool and the acrylic will add durability and comfort without introducing the wool that so many people are sensitive to.
Also due to the lighter weight of the angora and acrylic, these 100-gram balls are a bit longer than standard wool sock yarns, but they fill out nicely during their first wash and dry. It's also machine washable on the gentle cycle in cold water and machine dry-able on low heat.
Despite being 40% German Angora, this yarn does not fuzz out into the halo that's characteristic of most Angora yarns, making it the perfect yarn to use for socks for both men and women.
Hand knitters will want to use US needles sized 2 to 3, depending on how firmly you like your socks knitted. Circular sock machine knitters will find this yarn glides smoothly though any cylinder up to and including the 84 slot cylinder, maybe 96 if you want a very wide sock.

Shipping & policies
I ship worldwide, no problem. I do not charge a handling or packaging fee of any kind and I want it noted that I don't even charge the full postage costs for what I ship. I'm happy to share part of that cost with people whenever I can. After all, it's not *your* fault that we might live thousands of miles apart from one another, right??
PayPal and Direct Checkout are my favorite methods of payment, but I'll accept checks and money orders, as well. The catch on non-PayPal payments is that, unless I know you well, I have to hold the order until my banker and I are both comfortable that your check has cleared your bank. That could be a while, depending on where you are and where you bank.
I charge sales taxes on all sales to residents of Michigan (USA).
If you decide you want to cancel your order (and I haven't shipped it yet), just let me know. I like to be as flexible as I can with peoples' changing situations.

I welcome special requests and I'm happy to quote bulk pricing on wholesale orders. A word of caution, though--like I don't charge the full cost of postage when I ship, I also don't mark up my products very much, so I can't afford to give very much of a discount on bulk orders, but I'll sure try to accommodate if you want to buy in bulk.
