Item details

Vibrant early 1940's chart designed for the classroom to educate students about health and wellness. The Winslow Health and Hygiene series was named after Charles Edward Armory Winslow, then professor of public health at the Yale school of medicine. The Winslow charts promoted healthy lifestyle choices, with an emphasis on exercise and diet. Produced and printed by Denoyer-Geppert Co. (Chicago).

Striking black background adds drama to the detailed illustrations. Lithograph on paper adhered to linen backing. Metal case on top, wood rod on bottom.

This large and impressive chart is in very good original condition. The muscle chart on top is in excellent condition with minor edge wear, The skeleton chart below it has one area with wrinkles, scratches and a tear. The small area that has peeled (see PIC#4) has minor paper loss, any touch up or mending can be done by the buyer. The metal bar on top is original, and the chart rolls up as would a window blind, with a firm tug on the bottom wood rod (also original).

The Muscle and Skeletal charts each measure : 43.5" wide x 30" long, should you decide to cut and frame them separately.

Or, the entire chart including vinyl border on bottom measures: 43.5" wide x 69" long.

Please look at pictures closely, and ask any questions before purchasing. I consider this pull-down chart in very good vintage (used) condition. Unique, attractive, crisp and refined. An interesting gift for a collector of anatomical items, a doctor, a physical therapist or a fan of great design.

As this is an exceptionally rare vintage item, I will take great care in packing and deliver in a strong box. I try to describe any flaws with pictures and full disclosure description as I do not offer returns unless an item is grossly misrepresented. I can send more photos on request.

Thank you!
