This listing contains PDF downloads of peyote stitch and loom beading patterns. NOTE: This is a pattern only, not a tutorial. Prior knowledge of flat peyote stitch and/or loom beading is necessary.
These patterns feature a portion of the Japanese work of art The Great Wave off Kanagawa, from artist Katsushika Hokusai's series "Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji." He created the painting in the 1820s. The patterns include a bead legend (list of colors), a bead graph, a word chart, and a picture of what the finished beadwork will look like. The finished piece will measure approx. 2.07 inches wide and 6.99 inches long if you stitch the entire pattern. You can shorten or lengthen it by adding or omitting rows.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is just a pattern, NOT a tutorial. Knowledge of flat peyote stitch and jewelry finishing is required. You may finish the cuff with any clasp that you like.
A NOTE ABOUT BEAD COLORS: This pattern uses 15 different Miyuki Delica size 11 colors. I HIGHLY recommend that you choose your own colors to suit your visual preferences, rather than following the bead legend exactly. Sometimes the program picks bead types/finishes that don't look the way I expect once they're stitched up; for instance, I almost never use transparent beads in my work because of their unreliable color - they look one way in the bag but very different in the beadwork. I also avoid galvanized Delicas because their finish wears off, and satin Delicas, because their reflective quality interferes with the cohesiveness of a beaded image.
Please do not sell, copy, or give away this pattern, but feel free to give away or sell finished pieces you make with it. I would appreciate it if you credit my Etsy shop if you do decide to sell a finished piece. Thank you!
