A Victorian graphic of a 19th c British soldier in full dress uniform talking to a man in a smock in a country market setting. Victorian military illustrations. Artist William Gunning King famous for his dark line drawings.
One of my vast collection of Victorian and Edwardian artwork and illustrations that I have accumulated over the years, having a fascination for all things from this era. Even though some of the old photographs in the book might be a bit grainy due to the publishing process, I feel that the history and information they hold needs to be kept, they are relevant to someone out there.
These pictures are perfect for illustrating books, articles, school projects, blogs, craft work etc...I frequently use them in my own blog about Tales from Victorian Weymouth and Portland. http://susanhogben.wordpress.com/2014/04/04/whos-a-naughty-boy-then-victorian-prisoners-were-they-really-all-bad/
I also use them to bring my family history stories to life, the characters take on a new role with day to day illustrations about their life in the Victorian and Edwardian era.
Even download them to frame as a piece of art.
