I try to ship packages within three business days, although usually it is sooner than that. Packages 16 oz. or less are shipped First Class Mail which takes 1-5 days in the USA. Packages weighing more than 16 oz. are shipped either Parcel Select or Priority Mail, whichever costs less (which depends on your zone). Packages containing only books which weigh 1 lb. or more are shipped within the US by media mail. US orders have tracking information on first class mail more than 3/4" thick and on parcel select, priority mail, and media mail packages. If it is less expensive to use a flat rate box, I will do that. If the actual cost of shipping is significantly less than that charged, I will refund the overage.
(Tracking is not supposed to be available for first class mail large envelopes less than 3/4" thick; although all of my first few orders before I realized this were delivered ok, now I include a couple of Styrofoam peanuts to reach the 3/4" thickness. A lot of postal workers will let it slide as long as there's a tracking bar code on the envelope, but I hear that they are trying to crack down on this and the envelope could be converted to Priority Mail, which is much more expensive)
International shipping can take 1-4 weeks depending on the country. I use USPS First Class International Package for these orders. Tracking is available to certain countries. If you would like me to ship an international package by Priority mail (6-10 business days) please make a note of that with your order and I will calculate a price for you.
I'd like to keep shipping charges to a minimum, but have found that especially international shipping and heavy items cost more than I'd anticipated and have had to adjust my shipping profile accordingly. As sales progress, I will be able to fine tune this better.
