The Opal is the birthstone for October, and is tenth in a series of small birthstone samplers. These can be stitched separately, or in combination. Stitch them as birth samplers, family samplers, wedding or anniversary samplers, or if you're really brave, stitch them all together! I've included a border idea for joining them up.
Stitch Count: 100w x 100h Design Size: 5 x 5 inches on 40 count fabric 5 ½ x 5 ½ inches on 36 count fabric 6 ¼ x 6 ¼ inches on 32 count fabric 7 ¼ x 7 ¼ inches on 28 count fabric
Measurement are for design size only, you will need to add extra to each side for framing. Fabric used for the model is 32ct Raw Belfast Linen from Zweigart.
Soie D'Alger 3021 x 4 or DMC 3689
You will also need: 3 mm Swarovski Bicones Opal AB x 40 Miyuki Delica DB0222 x 344
This is not an exact conversion, but it's fairly close.
Floss estimates are for 32 count fabric using one strand of thread for stitching over two (except where noted). If using DMC, you might need to bump that to two strands for cross stitch and some of the specialty stitches – it doesn't cover quite as well.
For the beads you could also substitute Miyuki seed 15-470, Toho 161F (size 15/0) or Mill Hill 3041 – please note, the Mill Hill is a larger bead, but they should still fit comfortably.
