This adorable owl applique can be used as a bunting decoration, sewn onto clothing or pillows, or added to any number of DIY projects as a fun addition. I was decorating some notebooks for the girls in my cabin at a camp that I was attending and I was going to use simple crochet flowers that I already had on hand but when I started arranging them on the notebooks I just was not feeling it. So I sat there looking at them and thought "You know what would be cute, little owls!" So I designed these in one night, perfected the pattern and here it is for you to use on your own projects.
I made the owl with thread but the pattern can be created in any yarn and any color of your choice. Just have fun!!!!! Pictured are a few ways I have used the owls. I have included instructions for the bunting in the pattern.
This is an easy level crochet pattern.
Stitches used in this pattern: slip stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet and treble crochet.
The pattern is created in the round so increasing is also used in the pattern.
