Item details

Inspiration Point, San Diego, CA.

Nice California souvenir. Postcard shows a lovely verdant hillside view overlooking San Diego in the probable 1940's. Nice vintage city view.

Postcard has been written on but never mailed, or at least there is no postmark cancellation. Sender was in the Armed Forces so presumably no stamp would have been required.

Item on offer is postcard only (no mat or frame).

Divided back.

Approx 3 3/4" x 5 1/2"

CONDITION: Nice vintage condition. A little wear to edges, especially lower left corner. As shown. As always, please see all photos.

COMBINED SHIPPING? Additional postcards ship for FREE. See my Shipping policies for details.

Some added thoughts on buying vintage postcards...

WHY SHOULD WE LOVE OLD POSTCARDS? These tiny slices of time have excellent uses:
-- Gifts: Keep on hand, to slide into a birthday card or tuck into a Christmas stocking.
-- Gift Tags: A postcard makes a great gift tag on a larger vintage gift.
-- Collectibles: A postcard collection is inexpensive and doesn't take room. Find a theme you enjoy (lighthouses, night scenes, cityscapes, etc.) and have fun.
-- Education: Help a child start a collection (animals, state capitols, etc.)
-- Send them: My friend uses beautiful Victorian postcards as her signature stationary.
-- Art: Great for collages, shadow boxes, altered art, etc.
-- Frame them: Display one or several. Perfect for displaying along a stair railing, bookshelf, mantle, etc. They are small enough that even matted and framed, they easily fit on a powder room wall, in a travel camper or tiny studio apartment -- anywhere you need just a little art.

***NOTE*** I'M OUT OF THE SHOP until Feb 25th. Feel free to shop, but shipping will be delayed until Monday, Feb 26.

Right now, I ship to U.S. only.

COMBINED SHIPPING? YES, when items can be shipped in one package. Once you have paid for shipping on the first item, additional similar items ship for free.
This policy applies to MOST of my inventory -- vintage ads, illustrations, postcards, swap cards, photos, and maps.

*My aim is to charge actual shipping plus a nominal amount to cover packing materials. If I can save you money, I will.

ABOUT BOOKS: Books under 16 oz (after packaging) are generally sent via US First Class or Priority. Heavier ones go via Media Mail to save postage.

IN A RUSH? I don't do special mailing (overnight shipping, Fedex) but I'm happy to get it to the post office quickly. The post office usually delivers my items 2-5 days after I mail them, and most often 2-3. I live in central US, so that helps!
