Item details

Glass cherry charm with handmade glass red cherry bead on a copper wire looped stem, and either two jump rings or a lobster clasp. You can also choose between Sterling Silver and 14/20 Gold Filled for your metal. The cherry will be about 1/2 inch (12-14mm) wide. You are purchasing one charm only - no chain of any kind is included. It will be carefully packed in natural white cotton inside a free glossy black paper gift box with gold bow.

Fastening Options:
One option consists of two open jump rings. The smaller 4mm jump ring can be used for attaching your charm to a chain-style charm bracelet or keychain as shown in the fourth picture. The larger 8mm jump ring can be used to make your charm into a pendant by slipping it over your favorite chain as shown in the fifth picture. Or you can slip it over a european-style charm bracelet for stringing big-hole beads. For instructions on how to correctly open and close the jump rings to attach your charm to a jewelry piece, see this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2OihVBhCes Written instructions will also be enclosed in your package.

For the other option I replace the jump rings with a 9mm teardrop-shaped lobster clasp as shown in the third picture. Your charm will arrive ready to clip onto a link of your charm bracelet or neck chain with no tools needed.

Show off your luscious cherry style with this realistic red cherry glass charm. My glass cherries show a degree of realism that you will not find anywhere else. No two are exactly alike. This makes them ideal for use in high quality art jewelry.

The Nature of Mother Nature
Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit and leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches and speckles, make them a tiny bit lopsided, and add other small imperfections so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more real.

Process and Materials:
These glass cherry beads are individually handmade by me from Effetre Italian glass rods in the flame of a torch. I use the lampwork process and simple tools to melt the glass directly onto a piece of 20 gauge copper wire, which becomes the "stem" of the cherry. I finish by placing the little stem scar "belly button" on the bottom of the cherry.

Photography:
The photos above are representative of the glass fruit charms I make in this style. The charm you receive will be similar to, but not exactly the same as, the one shown above. There will be some minor variations in the shape, size and color patterns of each bead.

FAQs

I welcome custom orders! Feel free to contact me any time with your request. I am not able to personalize orders at this time.

All orders are shipped in gift packaging. For jewelry and most small sculptures, the items are carefully packed in natural white cotton inside a shiny black paper gift box with a gold bow. Larger items such sculptures may be shipped in white paper or wooden gift boxes.

You may clean any of my jewelry designs using the mild jewelry-cleaning liquid that's available in most department stores. First immerse the jewelry piece in plain water, then dip a soft toothbrush into the fluid and scrub lightly, paying special attention to any tarnished surfaces. Then rinse, rinse, rinse, being sure to remove all traces of red fluid or suds from inside the bead holes of any crystals, where they might leave behind a cloudy haze. You may also safely use any of the dry silver polishing cloths that are available at jewelry stores or on the internet to clean any sterling silver parts that can be easily reached.

I make my jewelry with 925 Sterling Silver, Argentium Silver, and 14/20 yellow Gold-Filled. None of these contain nickel. If I should ever make anything with nickel content, it will be plainly marked in both the Materials and listing Description. If you are unable to wear something I make because it irritates your skin, you may return it to me in good condition for a refund of the purchase price. Just try it out, and let me know within 14 days of receiving the jewelry if there is a problem. I would also be happy to custom-make a piece for you in the metal of your choice that you know to be safe for you.

Gold-Filled materials are quality materials that can be expected to last a lifetime. I use 14/20 gold-filled, which is made by using extreme pressure and heat to bond a sheet of 14 karat gold over a brass base. The resulting product is a wire or tube in which the gold layer represents 1/20th of the volume of the piece. This material is then formed into chain and other jewelry findings that are strong, durable, and resistant to tarnish. The gold layer of gold-filled materials is many, many times thicker than the coating on gold-plated or “gold vermeil” materials. As a result you can expect to wear and enjoy your gold-filled jewelry for many years without worry of having the gold layer wear through.

Your international shipment may be subject to import or value added taxes, customs duties and delivery fees which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. For example, VAT will usually be charged on goods entering the EU from the United States if their value is greater than 15 euros. EXCEPT FOR SHIPMENTS TO AUSTRALIA, ETSY DOES NOT COLLECT THESE TAXES AND FEES - they must be paid by you when you collect your package from Customs. See below for more information on how Etsy collects taxes for shipments to Australia. And see below for more information regarding "Gift" shipments. Please contact your local customs office for further information.

When a non-US customer is buying a gift for someone else, she often misunderstands that to mean that I can properly mark her international shipment as a Gift. But the customs rules do not apply to what will happen to the package after it is received. The customs rules only apply to the relationship and transaction between me (the seller) and you (the buyer). Since I will be receiving payment for the work I send overseas, to comply with the law I must mark the package as Merchandise (not as a Gift) and list the full amount paid on the the attached documents. To do otherwise risks criminal penalties for us both. Therefore, regular import costs will be charged on the full value of any order shipped from the US into another country.

Based on new Washington and Pennsylvania State tax laws, Etsy now automatically calculates, collects, and remits sales tax for ALL orders shipped to addresses in Washington State and Pennsylvania. This new law applies to orders being shipped from other US states into Washington, and even to orders being shipped from other Countries into Washington State. Sellers cannot opt out of this procedure. No action is required on your part.

Based on new Australian import tax laws, beginning on July 1, 2018 Etsy will automatically calculate GST tax for all orders valued less than $,1000 Australian dollars that are shipped from my shop to buyers in Australia. Etsy will collect this tax from buyers during the checkout process and remit the funds directly to the Australian tax authorities. Neither Sellers nor Buyers can opt out of this procedure. No action is required on your part.

WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD Keep your glass beads, sculpture and jewelry out of the reach of children. Do not display or store glass berry beads or sculptures where they could be confused with real food. Never put glass beads or sculptures into your mouth for any reason, even as a joke. WARNING: FRAGILE Dropping glass beads or sculptures onto hard surfaces may chip, crack or break the glass. My jewelry is delicate and should not be handled roughly or given to children. Do not wear jewelry that has loose or broken parts. If you break your glass beads or jewelry I may be able to repair them. Please contact me by clicking the "Contact the shop owner" link to discuss your repair. Always use caution when handling cracked or broken glass.
