You receive: 0.4 ounces - approx. 160 - 3mm (approx.), semi translucent, frosty white, antique Venetian glass seed beads, with a soft matte surface and 0.5 - 1.0mm (approx.) often-clogged, beading holes. (I suspect that running a headpin through their holes would clear them out.)

Note: I call these beads "floor sweepings" due to the amount of dust and grit mixed in to the packs I receive, as if someone quickly swept the factory floor at the end of the day, and brushed them into the bag...a century ago!

These old beads possess an INCREDIBLE personality, yet I think they will be a challenge to use - many of the holes are clogged with glass dust - not for the fainthearted - but GORGEOUS and worth the effort needed to use them.

These are authentic, LIMITED, antique seed beads, never used, made in Italy, about 100 years ago.
These are truly collectible beads, the type that you purchase now to be savored when they are unavailable later, the seed bead that you would use in a specialty piece, when choosing NOT to use more conventional, easy to obtain, "modern" seed beads.

Some history:
These beads were made by the Societa Veneziana Conterie, a consortium of 16 independent Venetian bead makers that joined together from 1898-1992 and created glass products, in a huge brick factory on the island of Murano, Italy.

The beads were hugely popular world-wide, especially in the 1920's and 30's, yet the Societa became comfortable after years of prosperity and failed to prepare for the inevitable change in tastes of today's consumer and the rising costs of energy, transportation and labor.

They shut down in 1992, selling 7 tons of antique bead inventory.

I have had the huge privilege of locating and purchasing a small cache of these beads, which EthnicBeadShop is making available to you for a limited time. Enjoy!

Conditions of return

PAYPAL: If I am refunding your Paypal purchase, please provide me with the paypal account name that you used. I cannot provide a refund if I cannot locate your order.

1.) CANCELLING PRE-SHIPPED ORDERS: contact me right away to request a cancellation (I ship super-fast so you will want to catch me before I'm out the door...) - if I have already packed your order, an 8% restocking fee will apply and be removed from your refund.

2.) LOST PACKAGES REFUND:
Full refund (including original shipping) after the required insurance filing wait has been met: 21 days Domestic, 45 days International, and 60 days Italy, from the shipment date.

Your lost order is NONREFUNDABLE 90 days from shipment date (insurance claims can be filed no later than 90 days from the shipment date).

IF the lost/late package eventually does arrive, please do NOT open, mark "Return to Sender" on the outside of the package and give it to your local postal service.
They will ship it back to me, at no cost to you.

NOTE: Sadly, USPS does NOT offer a formal/written inquiry process for late/lost packages shipped FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL, which is the shipping method that I use, due to it's cost-effectiveness.
This means that I will be unable to assist your postal service in locating your package once it departs the U.S.

3.) BASIC (not what you wanted) REFUND: Full refund for returned items, not including shipping, or handling fee. (No exchanges, refunds only.)
Please return item promptly, in its original condition (ie. still on the string, accurate amount in the pack, etc.), and re-secured in its original packaging, to receive a full refund.
NOTE: Per 2014 EU Directive on Consumer Rights, International customers have the right to return their purchase within 14 days of receiving it.

4.) SHIPPED TO WRONG ADDRESS (with incorrect address listed on Etsy):
Your purchase is non-refundable.

5.) ITEM IS DAMAGED OR MISSING FROM YOUR ORDER:

If item is not available, you will receive a full refund for damaged or missing item, (including shipping if it was the only item purchased in the transaction).
