Extremely long suri llama locks in light auburn red. The listed price is for 1.6 ounce of locks averaging 16 inches in length with some locks even longer. It is very rare to find locks at this length. Animals are usually sheared yearly, and if they are not sheared or only have the blanket (chest, back, sides) removed, neck fiber sometimes is left for two years. Although beautiful length can be achieved, one needs to appreciate the fact that the fiber is on an animal living in a barnyard setting during this time. Llamas in particular are vegetable matter magnets. Ferrari is an incredibly handsome dude with beautiful soft, silky fiber. He also had a great time getting his dreadlocks absolutely full of little bits of hay, etc. I believe this fiber is worth the effort, but it really does take patience and some time to wash, detangle, and comb out these locks. In the interest of complete disclosure, this batch still has a trace of VM in the form of fine hay fleck. An experienced doll wig maker will have specific treatments that you do or don't want for the fiber, and I decided it was best I leave the rest to a knowledgeable person! I believe this batch will be more than adequate for a voluptuous wig. If you are accustomed to working with suri alpaca or mohair, you may be used to ordering more fiber by weight. Llama is a medullated (hollow) fiber. As compared to suri alpaca, suri llama is lighter in weight. If you find it difficult to gauge how much fiber is present, please convo me and we'll try to make sure that you can get a photo that better shows you the volume of fiber.
Care instructions: the fiber will come to you already shampooed, but if need be can be re-washed, just never agitate it and treat it like you would your own hair. lay flat to dry.
Shipping overages are refunded through Paypal. If you are ordering from overseas and shipping looks very high to you, convo me and we can try to figure out what shipping to your country will cost and do a reserved listing with that adjustment. We do charge a small additional amount because of the additional expense of going farther to the main post office for international shipping.
