This posting is for one blank rustic reclaimed barnwood (weathered barn wood) sign. The outer dimension is 5 inches by 5 inches. The edge of the board is carved with a router to have an ogee, or curved, edge that makes it look a bit like a frame. The curved edge gives the sign a finished look that glams up the final sign immensely. The work space dimension (after allowing for the routed curved edge) is 4.25 inches by 4.25 inches. This is a great size for table numbers or place cards for special attendees.
We leave our signs blank so that you can use them as you would like. You can paint them, stencil them, use Sharpie on them, carve them, wood burn them, bedazzle them, thumb tack paper to them (maybe with clever thumb tacks) or decoupage them. These would be a great groom project to carve the initials in a heart on the sign.
The sign is made from reclaimed barn wood that we found at a farm auction here in Missouri. It's cool to think that these boards once protected cows, horses and hogs, and now will adorn a rustic woodland or farmhouse wedding. Due to variations in the weathering of the barn wood, each unit will vary slightly. There are also remnants of nail holes or knots in some pieces, but that is part of the charm. Note that this is actual wood from a barn--not common pallet wood. It looks to us like southern yellow pine, but we can't be sure.
These signs are shown displayed on a wooden stand. We have these available, but this posting DOES NOT INCLUDE THE STAND. See our other items for the stands.
We will combine shipping if you purchase multiple items from us.
OTHER VARIATIONS We have these blanks available in various sizes, so be sure to look at our other listings. We can also make special sizes, although the wider requests may require us to glue multiple boards into one.
