Juniper and Mistletoe: A Forest of Applique . A Block-of- the-Month Quilt.
Karla Menaugh and Barbara Brackman found a forest of light-hearted inspiration in mid-19th century quilts. They've created a fanciful block-of-the-month series based on these charming tree patterns. The patterns are good for beginning applique artists---hand or machine applique.
Designs are perfect for Christmas patchwork or anytime home decor. Samples made in wool or cotton. Use it as a Block-of-the-Month program for a class or a pattern book for yourself. The major quilt---Festival of Trees---is 40" x 48".
Also includes how-to instructions. Karla shows you how to machine appliqué in their signature style using freezer paper and a variable overlock stitch to mimic hand appliqué. Each block has tips to help improve your technique as you progress through the quilt. Four additional projects including a make-do, pincushions, a wall hanging and a table runner are included.
Barbara will autograph this book and dedicate it as you like.
Paperback. New Book, from Kansas City Star Books. 64 Pages.
"I love the designs in this book. [with their] wonderful simplicity... great projects for any appliquer. For me they combine the folk element with clean lines making them feel more modern. Any of the designs alone would produce a beautiful product even if you don't want to make all of the blocks." S Signore
