There is a wonderful old barn in the heart of Rockingham County N.H. that most people view as an eyesore as they drive past. Yes, it is in the process of collapsing, it is old and has not seen any activity in the last 30 years. The elderly farmer who passed away quite awhile ago was also an amatuer woodworker. In what was once a workshop, the second floor has fallen down into the workshop area, I literally dug a bunch of items out from underneath the mess. This pair of hand drills is one of the many treasures I dug out. They are dirty and currently one of them turns very hard and the other one is stuck. The one stuck seems to be rusted. However, I believe with a through, detailed cleaning they will once again work. Maybe a good soaking in oil or something like that would help. If you are looking for a little project or are seeking to decorate maybe a man cave or garage/ workshop area, these hand drills would be perfect. The one that turns hard has the solid wheel, photos 4 &5, it is 12" long and is missing the top brace. The other is also 12" long and missing the top brace, too. Though this one has a nice open wheel design, very industrial looking. It isn't as dirty. but is rusted. This pair of antique hand drills are not in pristine condition, I rescued them hoping to find a good home for them, one better than rotting away under a heap of a mess. Thanks for looking.
