Several different patterns combine to make this very feminine scarf an interesting display of lace knitting. The fingering weight, soft merino wool yarn blocks nicely to open and lay out the lace work, leaving you with a wonderfully fluid drape in a light weight garment easily wrapped into many styles.
The scarf is knit in two pieces, then joined using the Kitchener Stitch. Instructions are in both row by row written and charted. Done on #5 straight knitting needles, 600 - 625 yds. fingering weight yarn, 2 stitch markers, 1 stitch holder, and a tapestry needle are all the materials needed to complete this project.
But as with most scarf patterns, substituting different weight yarn and/or needle size will create a scarf sized to your personal need. Adjusting the length is very easy by changing the number of row repeats. Adjusting the width would involve more as the edge lace pattern and the body lace pattern are different stitch counts. Can be done, just get you math cap on.
No complicated stitches here, K2tog, K3tog, Ssk, Sssk, yo, and the basics. Kitchener will the most difficult step. I have described how to lay out the scarf to join, from there if this stitch is unfamiliar to you most knitting books have great pictorial instructions. I f you can't find one, let me know. We'll work something out for you.
So, have a great time on this project, relax and enjoy.
I received the pattern immediately and started my scarf - I love this pattern!!
