Item details

this is a piece of beautiful thick cotton that i printed and dyed by hand. it is technically a quilting muslin, but it is much thicker and smoother than other muslin you have likely used.

i applied hot wax onto the surface of this fabric in several layers and then dyed it both green and deep orange. the whole piece unfolded is shown on my clothesline. i used my kelp pattern over printed with my seafoam pattern.

after i permanently set the dye into the cotton, i thoroughly rinsed it and then boiled it to remove all batik wax. after boiling, i washed the fabric one last time in synthrapol which does deactivate any excess dye.

care: machine wash in cool or warm water. hang to dry to extend the life of the fibers, or tumble dry on low with other laundry.

this fabric measures 38" x 58"

Our turnaround time for shipping is about 2 weeks for most products. Some orders can take longer, depending on a few factors, such as how big your order is, the season (order early for holidays!) and whether or not we have everything in stock to make your item at the moment you order. If your item will take longer than 2 weeks to ship out, we'll let you know before we begin working on it.

Your batiks arrive wrapped neatly in tissue along with business cards and care tags, but not with an invoice. If you would like to have a paper version of your receipt sent along with your order, however, just let us know.

if you need expedited services, alternate shipping methods or insurance, please contact us.

Payments

Washington state sales tax is added to your purchase at the time of checkout if your item is being shipped to a WA address.

When ordering online, please do keep in mind that exact color cannot be guaranteed, as each monitor will display differently. Please note that dye and print irregularities are not considered defects but rather inherent characteristics of individually hand dyed items.
