Item details

elongated cushion/lozenge
Precision cut
almost eyeclean

This tourmaline has a slightly darker end which is clearly visible in the photos. This stone also has a slight window in the center, likely cut to save weight.

It would be wonderful as a ring or a necklace in yellow or rose gold.

Tourmaline is a birthstone for the month of October. It has a Moh's hardness of 7-7.5. Tourmaline is often used in jewelry, and it's most commonly found colors are green and pink. One of the most prized types of tourmaline is Paraiba or Cuprian tourmalines, that contain copper, giving it a neon green or blue color. Often copper bearing tourmalines that haven't been heated are purple, violet or lavender.
