MATERIAL: Solid pine Amish style yarn swift.

DESCRIPTION: The base has feet on the upper cross piece to provide four point contact on the table. The arms are notched so they can spin freely as a unit without changing their X position. Six holes in each arm provide flexibility for the size of the skein you wish to use. The swift is designed to fold up upon itself for easy storage so there is no need to disassemble and re-assemble it each time you want to use it

FINISH: The wood is hand sanded to 600 grit for a finish that feels like glass. The pine is stained with MinWax Cherry stain and threel coats of hand rubbed polyurethane. We apply the same attention to detail as we do for our custom made furniture.

CONSTRUCTION: The base pieces measure approximately 2" X 18". The arms measure approximately 1-1/2" X 24". The arms are separated from the base with 2 washers to allow it to spin freely. The two units are held together with a bolt, a wing nut and washers to let you increase or decrease the tightness as needed.

SHIPPING: Each Yarn Swift is made to order. Shipping is estimated at 2 - 3 weeks and is sent out fully assembled.

We ship by US Postal Service Priority Mail or at our option we may also use UPS ground. All items are shipped fully insured.


We accept major credit cards through the Etsy check out, as well as PayPal, checks and money orders. Please understand that there is a delay in processing your order until your check or money order clears. There is a 6 percent Pennsylvania sales tax for all PA residents.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
Additional return information
CUSTOM MADE: Items that are made to order are one of a kind, whether or not they are made to our standard specifications. These include all furniture items such as tables, book cases, dressers, end tables, etc. Because they are used with food our cutting boards and cheese trays all considered to be custom made. Therefore we will only accept returns within our 90 day limited warranty period because of structural defects, or if it was not made to the design specifications,. Over time wood can expand and contract with temperature and moisture changes. These changes can cause wood to crack along grain lines. We attempt to build our furniture to minimize the effects of these fluctuations, but can not insure against them. Cracks due to moisture and temperature changes are not considered to be structural defects under our limited warranty.

NON CUSTOM MADE: Returnable within 10 days of receipt. Buyer is responsible for shipping, sorry no CODs. Return is subject to a $10.00 minimum restocking charge. These include accessory items such as Table Top Book Racks, candle holders, cutting boards, toy cars and trucks.

1. All items that are shipped by US Postal Service Priority Mail or by UPS Ground are insured for the full purchase price. If your item is received damaged in shipment please contact us immediately so we can initiate a claim. We will give you further directions based on the carrier's instructions.
2. Items shipped by US Postal Service using first class mail are not insured. You accept responsibility for items shipped uninsured.

Additional policies

We gladly accept custom orders. We will work closely with you to design the piece you have in mind and send you shop drawings for your approval. There is a $50.00 non-refundable design fee to cover the pre-construction costs, materials list, cost estimate and shop drawings. You may pay the fee by check or credit card before we begin any design work. A set of shop drawings will be sent to you for your approval before we begin construction.

Keep in mind that you need to make a lot of decisions in designing a custom piece of furniture. Each decision in the design has to be made by you. We will try to guide you and provide you with options, but the final choices are yours. When we are done you will have a piece of furniture that is truly ONE OF A KIND.

If you see a piece of furniture in our shop and wish to have it built to different dimensions we will be happy to do that. That requires a lot less work on your part, but you still have a unique piece of furniture that was MADE JUST FOR YOU.
