Item details

I have been developing crystalline glazes since 1989. Since there was so little information available on exactly how to create these wonderful glazes, I decided to write a book giving all of the details.

This book contains 22 how-to exercises to teach you exactly how to perform each step in the process.

Can just "anybody" learn to use crystalline glazes?

Well, yes and no.

If you are the type of person that wants immediate gratification, does not care to keep detailed records, has little curiosity, then I doubt that you will be very successful.

On the other hand, if you thrive on facing a real challenge, can proceed in a very rigorous and methodical manner, and are always watching for the unexpected, then I think you might have a good chance at mastering these exciting glazes.

In this book's 158 pages you will find 55 glaze recipes plus many firing schedules. There are also many color photos to illustrate the various topics being discussed. The book size is 8 1/4" by 10 3/4".

In the photos at the right you see one of the five table-of-contents pages. The book also has a complete, four-page index.

I also have a video companion to this book which shows me demonstrating the first 16 of the exercises laid out in the book.

This book retails for $29.95 and is available in many ceramics stores.

I'm offering it here to Etsy members for the SPECIAL PRICE of $19.95

If you want me to autograph it, please convo me when you order.

Please see my Shop Policies page for important payment, shipping, and return information.

NOTE: The $4 shipping charge below is for USPS Priority Mail, which they say should take about 2 to 3 days. If you are willing to wait for Media mail to reach you (usually 1 to 3 weeks), when you place your order, enter the coupon code MEDIAMAIL (no spaces) and the $4 shipping charge will be removed.

At present, I am shipping items only within the U.S.

My STANDARD shipping is by USPS Retail Ground. As you know, it can sometimes take a week or more for such packages to arrive. If you desire some other arrangement, contact me and we'll work it out.

I ordinarily ship within 1 to 2 business days of receiving your payment. However, if I am out of town at a craft show it may be 4 to 6 days before I can ship it. Also if you use a PayPal e-check, I must wait several days for it to clear before I can pack and ship.

I am always concerned that your items arrive promptly and safely. Items are always securely packed to prevent breakage. They are wrapped with bubble wrap and larger pieces are double-boxed. I have not had a single item break in transit in the past 10 years.

If your PayPal address is different from your Etsy shipping address, please tell me which one to ship to.

I prefer payment through PayPal. (You can follow the link to PayPal at check out.) You do not need a PayPal account in order to use a credit card with PayPal. Simply select the option to pay without an account.

I can also directly accept MasterCard and Visa credit cards, but I feel that going through PayPal is a more secure transaction.

I also accept USPS postal money orders. At this time I do not accept personal checks or other types of money orders.

I pay the insurance on all items.

Returns & exchanges

I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. My work is always 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

If you are at all unhappy about your purchase, please notify me within 3 days of arrival. I will gladly refund the price of the item upon its safe return. Shipping fees are nonrefundable. If you return it, please carefully repackage the item in the packing materials in which you received it and return it to me in its original condition. You are responsible for the return shipping and insurance. (Actually, you can either send it to me or hand it to me when you see me at a show.)

If an item breaks during shipment, please immediately send me a photograph so I can properly take care of it.
