Trumpet Vine Seeds, Campsis Radicans, Bright Yellow Flower, Organic seeds, Attracts Hummingbirds, Perennial Flower Vine, Great Privacy Screen

14 Seeds Per Order, very easy to grow.

We also carry the cuttings of trumpet vine in another listing, and have the orange trumpet vine seeds, cuttings, and plants.

Large showy plant, and you can count on the hummingbirds coming for this one. I have seen this plant trained with a braided single trunk, fabulous display with all the flowers on top. We will be selling this plant as cuttings, and live rooted plants in spring. But its always such a thrill to watch the seeds grow.

Campsis Radicans

Bignonia Capreolata

You're growing a fast growing, flowering vine with a trumpet shape that's attracting hummingbirds in big numbers. Everyone who see it in your yard, calls it by a different name. Most commonly the word "trumpet" is in the name. It's understandable if you are a little confused about exactly what to call it.

Trumpet flowers are also sometimes called "Cow Itch". As member of the nightshade family, the leaves have a toxic substance that can cause itching and a rash.

There are two types of Trumpet Flower or Trumpet Flower Vines:
The first is Trumpet Creeper (Campsis Radicans). It can grow 30-40 feet in a season, with a trunk several inches across. It's three inch blooms appear in the summer, earlier in the south. Colors range from yellow and yellow orange to red. This plant is native to the U.S. Gulf Coast and southeastern U.S.

A close relative is the Cross Vine (Bignonia Capriolata). Cross Vine is also commonly called Trumpet Flower, or Trumpet Vine. Cross vines grow shorter vines. The flowers are smaller, growing two to three inches. It blooms early in the spring, and helps to attract returning hummingbirds to your yard for the season. Cross Vines are native to a large area of the U.S. from the mid atlantic states and south to Florida, and west to mid-western states.

At this point, some of you may be thinking "My Trumpet Flower is a bush or a tree." In that case, you are growing Angel Trumpet Flowers, also called Brugmansia.

Hummingbirds are attracted to the bright blooms.

As a flowering vine, they need some type of support to climb. In the wild, they grow up tree trunks. They will look good growing in this manner in naturalized settings. A trellis or fence works well, too. Fences are more popular, as it provides longer length to run the vines. The support should be big enough to support vine growth of up to 30-40 feet, depending upon what trumpet flower variety you are growing.

Plants can be invasive. Growing methods are the same for both types of Trumpet Flower Vines.

Plant Propagation:

Trumpet Flower Vine are grown from seeds. Sow seeds directly into your flower garden after all danger of frost has past and the soil has warmed. Plant seeds 1/4" deep.

Vines can also be propagated by digging up and replanting suckers.

How to Grow:

Trumpet Flower Vine is easy to grow. They prefer full sun, but will tolerate partial shade. Plants like a rich soil to fuel their fast growth. Mix a healthy dose of compost into the soil prior to planting.

Plants like a lot of water and nutrients. Keep soil moist. Add general purpose fertilizer when planting, and every two to three weeks during the season. Switch to a high phosphorous formula just before the blooming period.

Trumpet Flower Vine needs some form of support to climb up. Trellises or fences work well.

Keep the areas weeded when plants are young. A layer of mulch will keep weeds down, and create a neat appearance.

Trumpet Flower Vine can be invasive. They are good "re-seeders". If the pods are allowed to open and pour out their seeds, you will find many new plants next year. Do not disturb the soil until seedlings have begun to grow. Thinning will almost certainly be needed. If you don't want them to spread too rapidly, pick seed pods as they appear.

Additional return information
If you are having germination issues, please feel free to contact us for some trouble shooting. Due to the variables in seed starting methods and climate we are unable to replace or refund seeds once packages have been opened.

Please read each item description carefully before purchasing, and follow the growing method for each item exactly as listed. We grow every product that we sell, and in addition we test our seeds twice per year for germination. We do not replace or refund buyers when they are not able to germinate or grow our seeds. Seeds / plants need so many varying conditions to germinate and grow, and buyers skill level and horticultural knowledge greatly varies.

Problems must be reported to us within 5 days of receiving the product. Shipping costs will only be refunded if the incorrect product was sent or received damaged or defective. Your money will be refunded in the same manner it was paid. Seller promises seed to be fresh. Seed is a live product, which depends on many important grower skills such as proper planting time, seed depth, type of soil, watering, light intensity, proper use of fertilizers, weed controls, fungicides, insecticides, soil conditions, and reasonable weather during the growing period. These factors are totally out of the seller's control, and germination and growing results are the buyer's responsibility and risk. Seller cannot be responsible for buyers growing methods or mistakes. All seed sales are final. No refunds or replacements after the 5 days have expired.

Buyers be aware: (We deal with these scenarios daily and they are out of our control)
Nature's Potions works 7 days per week to process orders -
During high peak / high volume times of the year we cannot guarantee that the buyers order will ship out within the 1-3 days listed. By purchasing from our shop, the buyer agrees to not post negative feedback regarding slow processing and slow shipping practices during high peak seasons. The seller has no control over the usps, and buyers need to be aware that it can take up to 2 1/2 weeks to receive the order (not all orders but some orders will arrive very late). The usps loses an average of 5 - 10 orders each week, with or without tracking.

It is the buyers responsibility to provide the correct shipping address. We do not replace orders that are sent to the wrong address. If the buyer submits the order containing an incorrect address, we will not replace the order, nor will we refund the cost of the order or the shipping cost. Due to the volume of orders coming in, it is impossible for the shop staff to look up orders and change addresses.

If the buyers state or country prohibits certain types of seeds, it is the buyers responsibility to "not purchase" said seeds. We do not replace confiscated seeds.

Shipping charges will not be refunded. The customer is responsible for any additional shipping charges incurred in returns or exchanges. It is highly suggested that you use tracking. Once item is received, your account will be credited. We will not refund shipping charges on lost orders or confiscated orders shipped internationally.

In purchasing, international buyers agree to assume the risk of arrival of all items. We cannot replace lost or seized items. By purchasing our items, you are confirming that you agree to these terms before items can be sent. We will replace any international order which is lost within the USA - if your country confiscates the order or it is lost in your country Nature's Potions is not responsible.

Additional policies

Custom orders are always gladly accepted.
