Boro textiles were made in the early 19th century by impoverished Japanese people. They are hand sewn from recycled indigo dyed rags. This antique boro textile was purchased in Kyoto, Japan. It is most likely sourced from old futon covers, kimonos, boro fabric and other traditional Japanese textiles.
The main textile piece is antique natural handwoven indigo with a striped boro patch on both ends. Stripes are soft and worn, quite worn in areas where the stripes become almost sheer.
Selvedge edges on both sides.
Perfect size for a scarf or wall hanging
This textile was sourced in Kyoto, Japan and is from the period between 1900-1940s.
It has a sashiko hand stitched mend.

9.1 Handcrafted Product Disclaimer
Quality is our highest priority. Please keep in mind that most of our products are handmade, using natural materials, and therefore it is quite difficult, if not impossible, to make identical items. Due to this process, there may be a slight variation from one item to the next. Such variations are inherent in the manufacturing of handmade products. Even though every effort is made to create only the best products, there may be natural blemishes that should not be misconstrued as flaws. These are what make each handmade piece unique and special. The pictures may not be identical to the product you receive.
