Handspun Yarn, Alpaca and Bamboo Yarn, Red and Black Worsted for Knitting, Crochet, Weaving, and Felting, 224 yards - 4 ounces
I spun this yarn with black alpaca fiber grown in Michigan and red Bamboo fiber that I purchased. Zeilinger's mill in Frankenmuth, Michigan, cleaned and prepared the roving. This is a lovely yarn that would be perfect for a scarf or cowl. It won't have much memory so I would avoid knitting hats or socks unless you add lots of ribbing or cables so that it doesn't stretch out.
The color is a very deep black with the subtle red bamboo throughout.
The last picture is a little swatch that I knitted up using US # 10 needles. If I were to make a lacey cowl, I would probably go up a couple of needle sizes. Maybe a # 12.
223 yards / 204 meters - 4 ounces / 115 grams - 11 wpi / heavy worsted.
