Each letter is unique. We cut everyone by hand on a scroll saw, absolutely nothing is automated. Because of this, the letters are not interchangeable. So if the name you purchase has two 'E's in it, for example, each one will only fit in its designated spot.
The paint we use is a totally non-toxic product. Although it only takes 24 hours for it to dry, it does take 7-10 days for it to cure completely. It needs to be at room temperature for this process. During the curing process, the paint will smell. We have been assured directly by the manufacturer of our paint that the smell is totally non-toxic. Especially if we rushed your order for you, or you ordered during the holidays, you will likely smell the paint for a few days before it dissipates. This is normal.
The finish we use is an environmentally friendly, water-based lacquer. It is totally non-toxic. This type of finish tends to raise the grain of the wood when it's first applied, leading to a slightly rough complexion of the puzzle. This will smooth over after a short time of use.
Please be aware that every single puzzle we make is individually crated by hand. Variations in the wood, finish, sanding, and paint are all normal.
We use birch plywood for all of our puzzles. This wood has the thickest veneer and the most plies of all available plywoods. It is 1/4 inch, top quality, cabinet-grade plywood that has been made of out of the best birch available.
