Zipped Folders:
___________________________________
• What is a Zipped Folder
Many of my digital downloads are contained in a "zipped" folder, also known as a .zip. This is a special folder that compresses file information together in an archived state. Zipped folders are used to make transferring multiple files from one computer to another a lot faster, smaller in size, and more convenient. In order to work with the files inside a "Zipped" folder, they first need to be extracted. Windows, OS X, and Linux all come with the ability to "unzip" these files. Simply, right-click the zipped folder and select "Extract All" or "Extract Here". This command will extract the file information, make a copy of the folder (in a usable format), and place it in the same locations as the zipped folder. Your files are now ready to use in the new folder. Feel free to delete the zipped folder copy after the new folder has been extracted.
• Devices That May Not Open These Files
Tablets, cell phones, and other mobile devices are not able to open zipped folders on their own. You may be able to find an app through your app store to accomplish the process.
• Request a Different Format
If you have any questions regarding this process, or will need the files sent individually and not in a zipped folder, please contact me.

Printing Tips:
___________________________________
Some colors may print slightly different than displayed on your computer screen, depending on screen & printer settings.
► PDFs ◄
{Needed Software}
To view and use PDF files, you will need Adobe’s FREE Acrobat Reader. It is very easy to use and many computers already have this software on their system. You can also find and download the free software through Adobe's website at https://get.adobe.com/reader/ . Please be aware that other PDF software programs, like Mac's default PDF reader called Preview, may distort editable PDFs. You must use Adobe Reader for the files to function properly.
{Printing Recommendations}
Heavy white cardstock is recommended for most PDF printables.
These files can be printed at home, or at a professional print shop like Kinko's, Staples, Office Max, etc.
{Printing from Home}
For best results when printing from a home computer, it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to reset your "Printer Properties" to "Best" quality, and choose the paper source "Cardstock" or "Thick Paper". This bypasses the default printer settings that are set to conserve ink, and allows for a vibrant print. Always print at "Actual Size" or "100%". Many home printers do not print edge to edge on a paper, and may leave a small white edge around the paper.
{Editable PDFs}
Some of my PDFs have editable text. Not all text may be editable and varies from listing to listing. The original font is embedded into the file so you can still have a cohesive look. However, if you seem to be having trouble with the proper font showing, please contact me for some troubleshooting steps. In Adobe Reader, simply highlight the editable text and replace with your personalized information. In order to change font, size, or spacing, simply highlight a portion and press "ctrl/command" and "e" at the same time. This causes a font properties box to pop up. I sometimes set certain editable boxes to sync with other boxes in the same file (i.e. address, dates, etc) so that you don't have to type the same information in each box. This will automatically fill in all of the synced boxes with the same information. Remember to save a copy of the changes in a different name, for future use.
{Avery Label Templates}
If you have an image that is compatible with Avery Labels, it is recommended that you print a test copy first. Hold the test page and the label sheet up to the light and make sure they align before printing on your actual label sheets. Always print at "100%" or "actual size".
► JPGs ◄
{Printing Recommendations}
Professional photo paper is recommended for most JPG images.
For best quality, it is recommended that JPG images be printed at a professional photo shop, however, they can also be printed off on a home computer.
{Printing from Home}
For best results when printing from a home computer, it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to reset your "Printer Properties" to "Best" quality, and choose the paper source "Cardstock" or "Photo Paper". This bypasses the default printer settings that are set to conserve ink, and allows for a vibrant print. Always print at "Actual Size", "100%", or at the dimension size of the image. Many home printers do not print edge to edge on a paper, and may leave a small white edge around the image and paper.
► PNGs ◄
{Purpose and Use of PNGs}
PNG images can be used in digital scrapbooking, photo embellishments, invitations, and other digital creations because they can be saved with a transparent background. Images in this format can be placed on top of other images (with the proper software) or be printed out just as they are.
{Printing from Home}
Follow the above Printing tips that correlate to the file type that you decide to save your creation in, for example, JPG or PDF. If you are printing the file as PNG, please see "JPG Printing Tips".
