THIS IS THE DOWNLOADABLE VERSION OF THE MARLOWE TEDDY BEAR PATTERN FOR YOU TO PRINT AT HOME/WORK/PRINT SHOP ETC.

The Marlowe Teddy Bear pattern makes an elegant traditional Barbara-Ann Bear about 14 inches (35cm) tall.

We've used this pattern to make bears in a variety of mohairs ranging from 3mm vintage mohair to 25mm dense and in crushed velvet. Marlowe is an old style, traditional bear and he's fairly easy to make even for a beginner. The pieces fit together easily, there are no darts and no need to gather pieces in order to make them fit. He's a bear you can make in a comfortable chair while watching TV and suitable for sewing by hand or machine.

The pattern includes all the instructions you need to make your bear with many diagrams for the more difficult parts. The pattern and instructions are on 13 x A4 sheets, the pattern is full sized.

You'll need a 1/4 metre of mohair, paw pad material, glass eyes or shoe buttons and 5 x 45mm joints. We use plastic pellets in the feet, hands, ankles, wrists and tummy to make him a little saggier and cuddly.

If you need any of the items necessary to make your bear, mohair, wool felt, eyes, sewing thread, strong button thread, bear making tools, polyester stuffing or glass beads, please contact us and we can supply what you need, you'll just need to pay for them separately.

Please note that the completed bear is not a toy and is unsuitable for children under the age of 14, it is a collector's bear.

The pattern and instructions in this kit are solely for private use, commercial use of this pattern is prohibited under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (c. 48)

FAQs

Yes please, get in touch!

Yes, we love them, we ask for a 50% deposit and once we have started making your item this becomes non-refundable, the balance is paid on completion. Have a long think about exactly you would like us to make and then contact us, we'd love to hear from you.

Do not wash the bears! You can clean them using a dry cloth, brush or duster, just don't get them wet. Moth prevention sachets are a good idea to protect all your fabric items.

This isn't really our strong point, but if it isn't yours either or if opening the parcel is going to be a big surprise we'll have go, we can put bears inside gift bags and we're always happy to include a special card for a special occasion, just let us know.

Your files will be available to download once payment is confirmed. Here's how.

Payments

It seems easiest to use Paypal, it's safe and secure and now we're also able to take credit card payments and accept Etsy gift cards.
We know sometimes catastrophes strike so we can be a bit flexible if you have a problem, we get a thrill in seeing our bears go to new homes, so when there's a good reason we try to be helpful, but when people let us down we get pretty deflated, so please be genuine and certain.

Returns & exchanges

Should our wonderfully amazing and brilliant creation fail to meet your expectations and you want a refund, please contact us straight away, or at least within 14 calendar days of receiving the item. We will tell you where and how to return it, it has to be by insured post and there has to be a signature required from us. We will enclose a cancellation form with your item and we will refund you as soon as possible, certainly within 30 days of us receiving your item. Please note that you are responsible for returning the item to us and for paying for it's return, unless the item is faulty in which case we will refund your return postage too.
If the item reaches you in a damaged state please keep all the packaging and contact us straight away so we can make a claim through our postal service.

If you have a problem with a download, we'll try and send the pattern to you again and if all else fails post you a proper paper copy.

Additional policies

We love to receive custom orders, sometimes people ask us for things we've never considered, a could be a combination of colours or something really off the wall, we made a moose for a greeting card company a long time ago and even a 'lady of the night' bear, a 4 foot tall bear we had to take to a lingerie shop to be fitted. Just don't ask to break somebody's copyright, no Harry Potter bears, no Paddingtons, Yogis...
If you have a shop and want to stock our bears please contact us, we'll be glad to help you.
