This listing is for a CROSS-STITCH PATTERN, not for the finished items.
It started long ago with a love for the bold color combinations and graphic appeal of antique flame-stitched footstools and wallets and armchairs and shoes. Having never incorporated this needlework phenomenon (also known as Bargello) into my cross stitch designs, I knew it was time when I got a sample pack of some new thread colors that were to be released at the next Market show. Much brighter than my usual color palette, but oh-so Spring-y and delightful, I immediately envisioned them on a pincushion.
To the flame stitching I added a quote from George Herbert, an English poet who lived from 1593 to 1633: “Hee that is in a towne in May loseth his Spring”
I finished up with a bunny rabbit, Robin with eggs, a few flowers, and a bright token to celebrate Spring was born.
