ALL PROFESSIONAL TOOLS APT 837 6THDouble-Face Texturing Pattern Jewelers Hammer
Square (Checker Board) / Striped Face for Jewelers /Metalsmith / Silversmith / Blacksmith

APT's 837 6TH - The classic Chaser Hammer has an Old World European design that is still used today by Jewelers, Watchmakers & other Craftspeople.

APT's 837 6TH Double-sided Texturing Pattern Jewelers Hammer some call this a Planishing Hammer is like getting two-tools-in-one, it is for non-ferrous soft metals. The double-sided hammers enable the user to make attractive patterns to give jewelry and other metal items a special custom look. Two (2) different patterns with each hammer. The patterns on this hammer are on one side square checker board face and the opposite end has Strips face. For best results, just place sheet metal on a flat metal block, and strike sharply & repeatedly until desired look or patterns is achieved.

Hammers have a Rockwell hardness of 48 and the more the hammer is used the more interesting the patterns become. The hammers will provide you with a simple and easy method to give your finished piece that eXtra flair you are looking for. Polished DLB steel head mounted in a well balanced hardwood handle w/a comfortable grip is smooth to the touch. The hammer head is forged-tempered & high polished steel.

The Texturing Pattern Jewelers Hammer is commonly used by Jewelers, is perfect for light weight gold, gold filled, silver, copper & brass metal sheet or hardening or soft wire, texturing metal, jewelry making & metal smiting etc. Flat head is used to planishing, flatten, dent, mark, shape, bend metal & form objects or to strike chasing tools (Not for auto body repair). The hammer is perfect used with a steel bench block/anvil or staking tools. When used properly - weight of the head, rather than the muscles in your arm & hand, drives the downward motion of this tool.

This is a more popular style with European Silversmiths & preferred by Jewelers worldwide. Other industries that use the Chasing Hammer are Watchmakers, Metal-Smith, Goldsmith, Blacksmiths, Silversmiths, Gunsmith's bench, Craftsman, Planishing, Model Maker, Hobbyists, Metal & Renaissance Artists.
