Please allow up to a week (usually just a few days) to be made since we are renovating our house
1 rigid heddle board (23.5 cm x 12.5cm (9.25in x 4.9in)) 3 dpi 3 loom bars (29.5 cm (11.5in)) 1 shuttle 33cm x 3.5 cm ( 13in x 1.4in) basic instructions
The heddle is laser cut from Birch plywood. The bars are made of pine from our land. and the shuttle from ash wood from a neighbors fallen tree
I started weaving on a similar backstrap loom kit and designed one for people to learn weaving on or for the experienced weaver to weave 'on the go'. If you would like to learn a new craft dont be intimidated by weaving. It is as old as age itself and is simple with some practice. I fell in love because of the instant satisfaction, line by line you build your textile, unlike crocheting or knitting where you progress loop by loop. The world wide web offers numerous tutorials for you to dive into the world of weaving! just search ''backstrap weaving'' with rigid heddle
this kit is all you need to weave a belt, scarf, rug, blanket, or whatever you imagination will take you.
This kit has:
a 'rigid heddle', popular in european folk weaving. holes are large for easy pulling through and has 31 strings possible. an 'apron bar' to attach warp to stationary object 'warp sticks' x2 to wind project up as the weave goes. 'shuttle/batter' with one sharpened edge for banging in weft. ***all finished with flaxseed oil for a beautiful and moisture sealed finish***
ATTENTION: The one in the picture is an example. All kits will be unique since the wood varies from grain to grain.
