* This is a PDF pattern for a knit shawl that you will make yourself, not the finished knit item itself. So, knit away, and enjoy wearing your own homemade Máo shawl! *
Máo - “Yak”. The curve of this reminds me of the shape of a yak’s horns.
This little piece is just perfect to put over your shoulders or to wrap around your neck for a bit of color and to keep away a light chill. The crescent shape and the increases create little ripples on the edge, and well as causing the curve to stay around your shoulders automatically like a nice hug. It’s just the right sort of thing to show off that special skein.
When measured side to side (straightened out) this is 50” long, and it is 9” from the nape of the neck to the lower edge.
Yarn: Plymouth Mushishi, 1 skein (plenty left over) Noro Kureyon, 4 skeins (use of 4th skein depends on your gauge) Or other similar aran weight yarn - other weights may be used (with appropriate sized needles) and will cause the finished object to be larger or smaller than the original pattern.
The patten instructions are written (not charted), and are suitable for beginning or rusty knitters on up!
