Item details

* This is a PDF pattern for a knit wrap that you will make yourself, not the finished knit item itself. So, knit away, and enjoy wearing your own homemade Arlene wrap! *

This seemingly simple triangle has an interesting construction, and is a perfect light piece to throw around your shoulders for a cool outside day, or a cool air conditioned indoors. It is knit from side to side, and includes a bit of a hidden feature that serves to reinforce the long edge, reducing stretching, and giving the whole piece just enough weight to settle nicely on your shoulders. The ideal yarn for this is a cotton-based ribbon/tape yarn, and is knit a bit loosely to allow a gentle drape. It also knits up quickly, as the needles are nice and large!

Yarn: Lang Yarns, Sol Degrade, 1 skein (pattern photos)
Berroco, Karma, 4 skeins

Notions: US 15/10mm needles
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle

Gauge: 10st/4in, Finished size is 20” deep at center with a 68” wingspan (Gauge is not critical, but differences will make a difference in the yardage used and the size.)

PS Arlene is a lovely little ostrich, very well brought up, and was a bit horrified at possibly being mistaken for a yak.
