Item details

A lovely old King or Wizard wearing a nightgown, lined wool or velvet dressing gown, long john's made from a baby's singlet, felt fur edged slippers and a crown that's simply made from a piece of braid. The gown has pin-tucks and lace for that old world look. He's 50cm. tall and has separate fingers made flexible with pipe cleaners. His limbs are sewn in, he has a bottom gusset for easy sitting and a painted face with a centre seam. His hair and beard are sewn in wool yarn. There are 8 pages of making instructions with diagrams and a whole page devoted to the face painting. You'll need a few Jo Sonja acrylic or folk art paints and small brushes. Don't panic, the face isn't difficult to do, even if you're a beginner doll maker. King N'Owt also makes a great wizard and the costume can be easily converted to suit depending on the fabric you have in your stash. A heads up, the pattern of course doesn't include freezer paper and if you live in a place where you can't get Reynold's Freezer Paper, the paper used to wrap printer paper such as Reflex has a shiny side that can also be ironed down onto your fabric but it has a lot firmer grip so only iron it very lightly.
