Tasked with framing an old citrus label, I found inspiration in an old decaying picking ladder and the metal bolts that helped secure the rungs. To make it, I mill old salvaged boards to make the frame parts then dowel and glue them together. The steel hardware is heated and bent into shape with a hammer. They are then threaded and allowed to rust. The result speaks for itself. Shown here, it is packaged with original steel artwork of a banana leaf. The artwork is also available separately under the listing of Steel Art. The frame fits 13"X 14" glass.
I was astounded at the craftsmanship of this item, it looks like it could have come off the shelves of Pottery Barn! We redecorated the house and wanted flashes of gold but while retaining a rustic feel and this perfectly fit the bill. The seller was fast to respond and ship out the item. HIghly recommended!
