Item details

This is mulberry bark from the mulberry tree. It can be used by weaving threads or ribbons through it. Stitch or glue it to your art project, use in paper making, paint the bark and use to press onto material or fabric for a textured print. I've seen photos of it used in nuno felting, but be aware it does have a stiffer texture as it is bark.

You are buying approximately 10-11 grams of this fun funky fiber. It has been dyed faded cherry. (Note: no two pieces of this are exactly the same - the photo only shows a representation of the fiber not the actual fiber you will receive as this is being sold by weight)

You can soak the bark in water to soften and then form over a bowl or other item to mold a decorative object. (See the photo of the bowl I made). It will hold its shape once it is dry, but shouldn't be subjected to dampness. You could spray your item with some sort of sealer to protect it.

It can also be peeled into thinner layers for an even lacier look. Fiber can be kept damp for a period of time, but will develop mold if allowed to stay wet for too long.

Google paper making with mulberry bark to get directions for using this in paper. I have included basic directions to get you started.

Note: I do combine shipping on multiple items but they need to be paid for together – Please wait to pay until you are through shopping and when you check out it should reduce the shipping. International buyers are responsible for any customs fees their country might charge. I usually take close up photos.
