I have been teaching others to lampwork since 2008 and in April 2014 I was one of the 4 guest artists to demonstrate and teach at the UK Flame Off. I have had tutorials published in various national and international magazines and my work is widely shared on the internet. This is my second tutorial and I hope you will be happy with it, please see the feedback for my first one "Making Petal Beads"
The tutorial is aimed at intermediate and beyond and so assumes all necessary equipment and safety precautions are being used. It will however, help with several basic techniques like dot placement, heat control and using gravity that would benefit those with less experience as long as they can confidently make well balanced beads.
I have included a short video clip (7.47MB) and there is no extra charge for this as it is not needed to complete the tutorial but I thought it might prove useful to some. Offering a video clip is a first for me so if you have any problems downloading or viewing it on your device, please let me know.
In this tutorial I will guide you through the techniques I use to create my carousel beads. I have written it in such a way as to negate the need for specific glasses or colors so you should have something in your glass supplies that will give good results. Tools are also minimal, the only item that may not be in a standard lampworking set up that is useful, is a round bead roller.
There are 29 pages in total including:
2 pages of written color advice, including how to achieve the bright combinations I do.
Advice on perfect dot placing
50 step photo guide with corresponding notes
4 pages of Inspiration in full color
This is an image heavy PDF file of 6.97MB in size and works well as an A5 booklet if you decide to print it.
Upon receipt of payment, you will be able to download the PDF direct from etsy. If you have any problems doing this, contact me and I can email the file direct but this may take up to 24 hours to allow for time differences across the world. A copy will also be stored in your Etsy account under 'Purchases' and may be downloaded again at any time.
I politely ask that you please do not pass the tutorial on to anyone in file format, printed copy by teaching it or any other way. Feel free to make the beads for your own use as well as for sale.
PLEASE, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me as I am happy to help.
