This pendant is another in my fragment series. After stamping designs into slabs of unfired clay I break them into pieces so I have just a fragment of my original drawing. This pendant has an Aztec inspired, geometric design. I like the idea that the piece might resemble an archaeological find, a little fragment of an unknown treasure. I used a bright, glossy ultramarine blue on this piece and chose 7 smaller size beads in various shapes with the same blue glaze to accompany it.
The pendant is 1 1/2” (38 mm) long and 1“ (25 mm) wide at the bottom, it’s widest part. The beads are approximately 9mm to 10mm. These fragment pendants are definitely one of a kind, I could never get the clay to break the same way twice!
I often fire my pieces several times, adding more glazes until they reach the point where I think they’re perfect. You will receive the exact pendant and 7 beads that you see in the photos. Comments or questions… I would love to hear from you.
