Item details

The breed originates in the Saone et Loire area of France where they are raised alongside Charolais cattle. They were developed in the 19th century from a number of local breeds and crossed with the British Dishley Leicester. Imported into the UK over 20 years ago the Charollais have been imported into many countries.

This breed is primarily a meat breed, but similar to Suffolk, it would be a shame to overlook this fleece. It's rectangular lock structure is dense. It is a member of the Other Sheep family.

These interesting locks come straight from the United Kingdom and are helping to support a valuable rural resource.

The staple length is 2 to 2.5 inches with a micron with a range of 23 to 30.

Offered in 1 oz. portions.

Please see my store policy on **actual shipping charges only**. For multiple items there is likely to be an overage from calculated to actual shipping. I will happily refund any amounts in excess of $2.00 over actual. Please convo me prior to purchase if you wish for an estimate or separate listing.

Additional policies

Given the wide variation in shipping costs, I have the high end listed as a safeguard for my costs. If for example someone were to purchase 2 ounces of fleece the shipping cost would be representative of actual. If someone purchased 12 ounces of fleece the shipping cost would likely be too high. For any shipping overages of $2 or more than the actual shipping cost, I will happily refund the difference, and have done so for any applicable sales.
Please convo me if you wish to have a custom listing set up for specific purchases and possible combined shipping costs.
